I have no words to describe what I am seeing this chapter, it's so fucking unbelieveable. The past week I have been keeping a close look for spoilers on this month's issue, and I absolutely read with mouth agape when I saw the ending page. FANS ARE GOING BALLISTIC OVER THIS ISSUE, IT'S INSANE. If Yagi wanted to cause an uproar, he got more then he asked for.

In the previous chapter, we were left off with Miria facing off with the Organisation's new twin experiment. Though the twins are still trainees without a ranking issued to them yet, they prove to cause much distress to Miria for a reason which we will know later.

I like this sequence! Very cool display of Phantom Miria's hi-speed illusion technique.

Here Miria reveals how her power stands against the twins. Sure enough Miria is way more powerful than the mere trainees, but it's proving difficult to NOT KILL THEM. Her aim is just to immobilise and get them out of the way, but the twins were more troublesome and difficult than Miria had expected.

It's time to end the battle as Miria slices off the arm of one twin, causing the other twin to slow down due to mental distress. You know I really admire Yagi for his character designs. The new trainee twins here, and the now deceased twins Alicia and Beth, have blank emotionless faces. But even in this panel with a nonchalant face, Yagi managed to convey a slight sense of shock and surprise in her face. Do you notice the subtle difference? He's a master at this I swear, I love the expressions he draws.

Crush their hearts at a younger age? We knew Alicia and Beth were stripped of human emotions as they were taken since they were babies to be trained as claymores. It makes you wonder what other cruel methods they used with the new generation of twins here. The organisation is really sick, but I love their experiments haha!

THIS IS EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING. Phantom Miria is easily the most powerful claymore on the island right now, she could easily decimate the entire generation of Claymores single-handedly if she released all her youki. But her heart is holding her back!!!! This is very much like how Teresa fell due to her softened heart don't you think? It almost feels like a flashback here.
But if anything, last chapter I was having my doubts as to why Miria can't even handle the twins which were merely trainees. Now we know she's trying her best to defend herself and immobilise them at the same time, but it's hard to ensure their survival if she cuts them down. Wise up Miria, you are in their turf now, if you don't kill them they will kill you.

Here Miria is shown to have a cut on her arm. It's impossible for the most powerful warrior to fail in dodging that don't you think? Even with her basic speed she could have easily dodged it, or she could just use her illusions. Something is affecting Miria and we will find out very soon. The twin also starts to heal and reattach her arm, which is bad cause Miria has failed to immobilise the troublesome twin.

There you go, the trump card of the Organisation is revealed this chapter. Warrior #10 Rafutela, with the ability to manipulate her opponent's sensory control and dive into their subconscious minds to bring forth their deepest emotions. I would think Rafutela is not good in combat, but very strong in this skill. Nonetheless this is the very first #10 warrior we have seen in every generation so far, and there's a reason why.

Every other Claymore can be sacrificed at battle, but the #10 of every generation must be stationed in base at all times because under no circumstances must the Organisation fall. It is revealed that every #10 so far only serves one purpose, and that is to kill any Claymore who rebels and turn their blade at the Organisation. #10 specialises in Warrior VS Warrior situations.
During Teresa's rebellion, we did not see any #10 warrior of that generation being sent to counter the situation during her official execution. Perhaps it is due to Teresa's rebellion that the Organisation has decided to create a warrior specialised in countering other warriors.
Or there might be another assumption. We all knew Raphaela's last parting words were that Clare is making a very big mistake. Could this be the reason? Perhaps Raphaela knew about the Organisation's Warrior #10 experiment, and was trying to warn Clare about her.

Here we see the effects that Miria suffers from Rafutela's manipulation of the former's senses. But Rafutela has yet to execute her signature move yet......

Manipulating Miria's deepest emotions, Rafutela conjures Hilda from the former's memories. This is the very reason why #10s are trained for Warrior VS Warrior situations.
Don't you think #10s are quite scary? Miria is currently the most powerful warrior on the island and she still succumbs to Rafutela like a puppet. It makes you wonder, what if one day a #10 which was trained specifically to fight renegades, suddenly decides to turn against the Organisation instead? What will happen? Nobody can stop her due to her unique ability, unless the Organisations sends the new #10 trainee against her which might prove futile. But it will be very interesting to see how a battle between the #10s will turn out.

The twin takes advantage of the situation where Miria is hallucinating, and gives her a fatal slash. But to Miria, she sees Hilda her deceased best friend cutting her instead. THAT IS JUST CRUEL YAGI!!! Why must you do this to one of the hot favourites in this manga??? She doesn't deserve this!!!

Unaware that she is hallucinating, Miria is shocked and overjoyed that her friend is still alive. She is overwhelmed with joy, disregarding the injury she has sustained. To Miria, Hilda is cutting her down cause she is attacking the Organisation and Miria is trying her best to convince her friend that she poses no threat.
To see the leader of the 7 Ghosts, that we've held up so high due to her power and personality, now reduced to a sad mess of retardation and vulnerability. It's just a depressing turn of events in this solo invasion. I'm really not okay with seeing how easily Miria has fallen into Rafutela's trap. I don't blame her for believing the hallucination so readily. Who would have thought that out there somewhere, there is a warrior who is capable of manipulating hallucinations? Seeing is believing for Miria.

And then the fallen warriors around them start to get up and approach the hopeless Miria. I think we all see where this is going...

It get's even more depressing as Miria is impaled by a claymore and kneels down in submission. ARGHHH SHE DOESN'T DESERVE THIS. She still believes Hilda is real and is not defending any blow that comes her way!!!!

It get's worst.....as this is one of the very few pictures we've seen of the cold steely Miria giving a warm smile. She stretches her hands out for Hilda hoping she would accept her.

And Miria's hand gets cut off on the spot. The warriors close in as Miria is hacked to death.
FUCK THIS.
WHY!!! WHY WHY WHY!?!?!?!?! WHY THIS!?!?!?
WHAT THE HELL MAN. For 2 fucking years Miria has been one of my favourite characters, instead she's moved up my list after her 7 years of training. AND SHE DIES IN TWO CHAPTERS? FUCK THIS. The most heart wrenching part has got to be the way she died, so extremely miserable and depressing. This is officially the WORST DEATH any warrior has suffered in this manga. Miria happily receives fatal blows from Hilda, and dies smiling.
Fans are speculating that Miria got beheaded on the spot, but upon closer inspection of the panel it's really too hard to see anything. It's all just a mess of blood spewing everywhere as Miria gets chopped to death. Her limbs and all may be hacked off, but most importantly we don't see her head flying.
Phantom Miria deserves better. This is pure shit, utterly upsetting shock factor. I want Miria to be alive next chapter and this is how I want it to be. Miria immediately awakens on the spot as she goes into a rage, extremely confused and emotional that her best friend Hilda is trying to kill her. She will return to her warrior form somehow because she is a half-awakened after all. That is how I want Miria to survive, someone mail this blog entry to Yagi RIGHT NOW!!!!
MIRIA MUST NOT DIE. THIS SUCKS ARGHH!!!

Claymore is one of my favourite manga, and I say this with the utmost respect, but I am extremely disappointed with the last chapter. Miria”s death was absolutely miserable. . .to the point of being disrespectful. The most conscientious character in the series (and one of the coolest) just got hacked to pieces for no apparent reason. . .
I understand that the series is probably coming to an end, but ‘Yagi” needs to relax a bit (lol). He can’t keep killing off the best characters in the series, otherwise, there won’t be anyone left to write/draw about!
Again, I love this series, but this one crossed the line. . .lol
Yea I also felt that Miria was not given the respect she commands!! Even if she dies, her death should at least be built up in one more chapter. It feels so sudden and out of the blue for Miria to die at the mercy of Rafutela which only debuted this issue.
Yagi seems to be trying to achieve another Teresa moment in this issue. I still have some hope that Miria might be alive next chapter, the ending panel was very subjective.
Miria isn't dead, what everyone saw was just one of her new mirage techniques she is using it to size up Raftela, or at least that is what I hope will happen lol. I don't want to belive that Miria would die this easily, and if she did it wouldn't make sense, it's like damn how many pwnsome evil characters do you need in one manga, first we have Priscilla who is a pretty unstoppable bitch, then we have Raftela plus the twins combination who are the ultimate weapon against all opposing claymores, and we don't even know what kind of monster they've turned Raki into.
Well at least Yagi has killed off Riful, Isley and Dauf. I think you could possibly say the Destroyer is gone as well.
I just wonder if the story will even go on to the Mainland if this pace continues.
I totally TOTALLY agree with you!
However, I do believe Yagi will pull SOMETHING out of his ass to save Miria, like some new tech. Don't forget, it's a monthly release so the mangaka has the cruel enjoyment of watching our shock/awe and anger as we wait yet another month. (cries bitter tears)
Honestly, I wanted Riful to live. I don't know why but i felt a bond with her so when that bs happened (totally her fault lol), i felt sad.
Did you mean Miria instead of Riful? If not what did Riful that was her fault? I can't think of any references with regard to what you are saying haha.
Riful and Dauf, as well as Isley, had very dramatic and climatic deaths. The action surrounding their deaths were well deserved since they are important characters.
As for Miria....her "death" is really underwhelming and stupid lol. And just because of the stupidity of her death I think we might very well see Miria still alive next chapter. I don't believe it will end like this!!!
