Claymore 102

It would seem extremely unexpected to see that Dietrich is leading a pack of Abyssal Feeders this chapter especially after the previous chapter ended with a teaser that hinted the return of Miria and gang. But a sharp and observant Claymore fan would already have noticed that Dietrich was holding a piece of cloth last chapter, most probably to lure the AFs by the scent. Most possibly a piece of cloth from Riful I think.

And isn't it so fucking cool that right now we have two brainless species of monsters pitting against each other??? The AFs which possess no personality, only the hunger to devour the Abyssal they are trained to do so. And the Destroyer's Spawns, that well...has only destruction in their minds. So what would be the outcome if two of them clashed!!!!











Dietrich threw the piece of cloth at the Spawns, probably to initiate the battle. So how did Dietrich manage to lure the AFs here so successfully? One would think the AFs would devour anyone who contains the scent that they hunger so much. There has been a lot of outcry from fans online, saying that Yagi had missed this aspect in his mind.

But the truth is if you look at the picture above, the Spawns were clearly charging forward agressively hence Dietrich decided to throw the cloth at them. The AFs were created in such a way that they don't track their prey by yoki, but by smell and movement hence the Abyssal One can't escape. Dietrich warned Yuma not to move and just observe, successfully cloaking themselves from the AFs' vision. When the "scent" is being thrown to a spot where there is aggressive movement, the AFs automatically sense that the Abyssal One is initiating an attack.

I think there is a lot of misunderstanding that Dietrich threw the cloth to initiate the attack, but she was merely waiting for the chance to throw. It does seem ridiculous that Dietrich could lead the AFs here without being attacked, but now you know. Correct me if I'm wrong =)










Thinking that their Abyssal target is charging forth, the AFs waste no time in grabbing on to FEAST!!!!!

As expected, the AF regenerate her body after being broke into half. Much to the surprise of Yuma, who has never seen the Organisation's latest weapon before. I feel like there is a loophole though. If the Organisation trained Alicia and Beth to counter Riful, why did they create AFs with the purpose of eliminating Riful as well?















The Spawns release parasitical spikes once their flesh are exposed. The spikes then impale their target and try to take over the host's mind.










The AFs have no mind of their own, possessing only the insatiable hunger to devour their Abyssal target that they have been trained to do so. Dietrich explains that once the parasites try to take over the AFs' minds, it instead releases the AFs from their mental lock on their mission. Instead it seems like they will devour every damn thing now, and with a hell lot more power!!!!!!!!!!!















YES. THIS IS WHY I LOVE CLAYMORE!!! The AF totally disintegrated the entire face of the Spawn!!!! And she ain't stopping!! She's still eating the Spawn mercilessly!! CHOMP CHOMP INDEED!!!


















More feeding on the Spawn exposes their flesh which in turn shoots more parasites. It seems like a neverending cycle here where the two mindless batch of creatures battle it out. The AFs were trained to return to the Organisation once half of their numbers are gone, but I think they wouldn't now especially after being released from their mental lock.













Hell yes! More body ripping and slicing and stuff. To be honest I could barely watch the entire movie of Saw 6, but manga gore is much more toned down and easier to ermmm.....appreciate HAHA. I'm not a fan of gore. Really. But in the universe of Claymore, it seems like losing a limb or two renders no pain at all, so you don't feel that much pity for the character haha!





















I can't believe I just read that Dietrich's power is on par with a whole group of AFs. I seriously think there is some major mistranslation going on. I would say an average AF is definitely on par with a Claymore that's ranking 5 and below. Dietrich who is a #8 warrior is on par with a whole group of them? Dietrich also reveals that she has been demoted to a double digit warror after failing the previous mission, but that's besides the point. Check out the dialogue above, is Yagi going to finally reveal Dietrich's special ability that can somehow manipulate the circumstance they are in? I am always skeptic of the number 8 ranking of Dietrich anyway, if she is indeed on par with a group of them then.....WOW!!?!?












Scene cuts to Priscilla...oh no not again. Priscilla smashes the Spawns into bits just by passing through, major yawn. Can't we just move on with the story already?


















BUT! A panel with Deneve slicing some major chops is always a plus.














Nice clean slices from Deneve!!! Revealing wide area of flesh that's full of parasites, waiting to burst out.

















And sure enough we see Priscilla Porcupine Part 2, impaled left right center with parasites. YAWN. AND WE ALREADY KNOW SHE WILL SURVIVE THAT. She brushes them off effortlessly and just then......



















An unknown figure pops up behind Priscilla. I already read a few spoilers prior to the chapter so I wasn't so surprised. But I can just imagine the shock of the readers when they see this!






















HUGE big ass arm smashing Priscilla into the ground, there is absolutely no doubt this is....





















THE RETURN OF DAUF!!! I can't say I'm terribly excited to see him again since we all thought he died with Riful a few chapters ago, why bring him back? But I'm kinda sad to see him holding Riful's corpse, fueled by so much rage and hatred for Priscilla who killed her.



















Dauf rained earthshattering punches onto Priscilla with his new found power. It seems that he was pierced by 3 parasites, or perhaps he purposely allowed the parasites to infect him so that he could survive for his revenge. Either way he has lost his mind after being infected, all he knows is that he wants Priscilla dead.











Riful which was in Dauf's hand a moment ago flies out of the rampage, broken into pieces. In the manga's panels, Priscilla is shocked when Dauf punches her with Riful in his hand, that guy has clearly lost his mind. Is that body of Riful really a corpse? In Yagi's world you never know =)






















Unable to restrain Dauf, Priscilla finally awakens and destroys his arm in a flash.

















Lovely. An infected awakened being, that is certainly very interesting. It gave Dauf a hell lot more power and skin that's hard enough to render a normal attack from Priscilla useless.















And then finally we get to see the full awakened form of Priscilla, that honestly should have happened some chapters back TO CUT THE CRAP. I'm not even interested in the events happening at Clare's side now, i hope the next chapter will focus on Dietrich!!! In fact right now I'm kinda hoping that Miria and gang wouldn't show up so fast, so that we can know more about Dietrich.
