Claymore 99

For some weird ass reason, this chapter seemed like it took ages to come!!! It should have been fast with all the festive activites to distract me, but it seems like the overwhelming urge to know what comes next from Yagi got the better of me. The chapter came a lot sooner than the fans expected, and it was only 24 pages long. Oh well I guess Yagi deserves a holiday break as well!

I expected it, I mean who didn't? The first few pages of the chapter showed the remains of Beth being torn into sad little chunks. Sigh~~Alicia and Beth were really one of the coolest characters around in Claymore, but I guess they have no place in this story anymore. But then again...what were their purpose in this story in the first place? To serve the purpose of killing Riful off? Oh well whatever it is, they are truly a one of a kind creation. And the Headless Horseman fusion of Beth and the Parasite was PURE AWESOMETRY, one of the coolest things I have seen from a manga yet!!!!!

Ok apparently in the world of manga nothing is dead until the mangaka officially states so, but then again that rule has been broken a million times...BUT NEVERMIND THAT. Anyway Beth amazingly still had her last breath to strike two parasites into the torso of Priscilla!!! In this chapter, other than the fact that we see Beth being seperated into little pieces, there was no confirmation that she was officially dead. Yes I know it's a big stretch to say that, but what the hell, Yagi ALWAYS leaves cliffhangers and loopholes for us and never confirms anything arghhh. I mean we see Beth in pieces, and the next thing we know she's actually alive and attacking Prisicilla?? What the fuck, so is she dead by the end of the chapter or not?

Either ways being the impossibly overpowered character that Priscilla is, the parasites simply purged themselves out of her body instead of infecting her. FUCK! That's just imbalanced power and....and cheating!!!^$%& Just exactly how powerful is Priscilla? When will Yagi draw the line? The protagonist Clare is LIGHT YEARS behind Priscilla in terms of battle prowess, I can't imagine how this story will actually end.

The scene then cuts to Riful and Dauf with their torn limbs from the previous chapters. My goodness how sad are they? LOL!!! Lest we forget Riful our little girl has lost 2 arms and one leg, and is now using her remaining leg with her hair to balance. And Dauf is so battered with a leg gone that he can't get up for 2 chapters. So what's next for them in this chapter? It seems like they have survived way beyond anyone has expected.

Let's recap the damage they received,

1. Abyssal Feeders
2. Alicia and Beth
3. Destroyer's incoming missiles
4. Parasites? (Can't confirm)
5. Abyssal Feeders again
6. Alicia going berserk

And the result of that ongoing torment for about 10 chapters cost them their limbs and they are but just half alive right now! Normally I would say JUST DIE ALREADY DAMMIT, but these two....I somehow wished they would survive and turn to the good side to form an alliance with the 7 Ghosts.

As soon as Riful senses Priscilla's enormous aura approaching, the heartless monster arrives so fast as though she teleported. Riful trembles in disbelief, completely in shock at how fast Priscilla travelled such a long distance, catching her off guard. It seems like at this point, Riful is trembling as she knows there is no running away from this monster, and that her inevitable death is just a mere stone's throw away.

"I'll tear off all your limbs."
"Cut you open and rip out your guts."

"And leave you to a torturous death."

Those were the exact words Dauf said to Priscilla in his angst to defend his beloved Riful. It translated to me as,

"I know you're a godlike boss character"
"But I don't know if I even know that yet"
"I don't think I'm clever enough to comprehend anything anyway"
"So. FUCK. YOU."

And there goes Dauf's remaining leg and his two arms. Torn apart with ease like a piece of tissue.

And of course as stated, the finishing move!! Dauf got his delicious intestines ripped out, courtesy of Priscilla.

Oh my, hows that for a sharp retort? Riful's gonna regret that line real soon.

The next thing we know, Priscilla appears behind Riful and her hand has already impaled the pitiful lolita. I thought her fist grew a kind of grappling hook, so I anticipated that Riful would get her torso ripped out big time.

But it seems like in the next panel, Priscilla's arms dispersed a bunch of piercings through Riful's frail body. And that was the end of the scene that tells us both of them are dead.

Are they? The death was not confirmed by Yagi once again. Last we saw Dauf, he was still crying in pain, definitely not dead in my book. If Cynthia can survive with all her limbs torn apart and torso impaled, I certainly do think Dauf might still be kicking. And Riful who's famous for being able to split her body into ribbons, why should a bunch of spikes finish her off? So are they really dead? Story-wise I would say they definitely have a lot of possiblities for staying alive, such as being allies with Clare and Galatea for old time memory's sake. But this section with Prisicilla indicates that she might have just ruthlessly finished them off the face of this manga, but again I emphasize their deaths are still not confirmed.

The next thing we know The Destroyer is ready to dispatch her second wave of parasitic missiles. And Clare senses a dangerous and familiar youki reading from afar that distracts her.

Clare focuses on what she excels best at, reading the flow of youki. Using this she assists Deneve and Helen in successfully dodging the projectiles.

Throughout the ordeal, Clare is very distracted by the familiar presence she felt. And all hell starts to break loose when the girl realises.....it was Prisicilla, the person that beheaded Teresa in front of her eyes.

All those years of training and waiting, all that time was just for this very day when she would meet Priscilla face to face once again for her revenge. The only reason why she became a Claymore in the first place, it was for her vengeance. Her emotions overflowed and it seems as though Clare is on the verge of awakening anytime soon.

As the presence of Priscilla draws near, Clare seems to be losing her senses and unfortunately I do not give two fucks. BECAUSE I HOPE CLARE AWAKENS THE NEXT CHAPTER!!!!!!!! Don't we all wanna see that once more?? Yes we do!!! And it seems like this is the perfect place for the two to have a showdown.

And of course the reigning Abyssal One arrives. Deneve and Helen is clueless of who this girl is, but they better run and never turn back coz I do not wanna see my favourite characters getting ripped apart like the rest. In a wager, who would even bet that Clare will win this fight? Priscilla is shown to possess far monstrous strengths as compared to the other Abyssal Ones, this fight will not be possible if Yagi wants to carry on with the story.

Hence I predict Miria and friends will somehow intercept the situation and force Clare to escape with them, BECAUSE IT'S ABOUT DAMN TIME THEY SHOWED UP. And The Destroyer can have her fun with Priscilla because I bet the readers are very confused on who is the new superpower on the island. For some reason I'm not as eager for the next chapter as the previous ones, because I know Clare is the protagonist and nothing will happen to her. Oh well we shall see by the end of January!

Claymore 98

SUP HOMIEZ! It's the start of the month and it always means a new orgasmic Claymore chapter is out. Yes speaking of orgasmic, how awesome is that to have a naked Priscilla on the cover. It's currently 12.30am now and I hafta wake up early next morning, but please...the things I would do for Claymore. I have not read the new One Piece, Naruto, Fairy Tail and Bleach chapters that are already out tonight, BUT THAT CAN WAIT TILL TOMORROW.

Claymore 97 left us with Beth in an extremely dismal state after meeting the TOTALLY OVERPOWERED Priscilla. An even sadder scenario we witnessed was Riful with only one limb left now HAHAHAA, all because Alicia was mercilessly trying to exterminate her. But Alicia suddenly breaks down and falls on her knees after getting a strong reaction from Beth's soul link. A chance for Riful to survive this chapter?

The scene starts with Yuma running away. In Claymore 96 we saw Beth being infested by the parasite and evolving into a ferocious Headless Feline Rider, followed by executing total carnage to her surroundings with her humongous blades. And the readers where left with one big question mark after the chapter, what happened to Yuma and Cynthia? Were both of them killed off by Beth in her frenzy? As expected they survived, but we only see Yuma here!!! WHERE IS CYNTHIA?

Yuma continues escaping from Beth, who is now facing off with Priscilla in a really hopeless struggle. Suddenly we see a hand wearing off from all that jumping and movement, and it drops on the ground. Yuma notices the hand and decides to land for a rest. BUT WHERE IS CYNTHIA??

Shit! Yagi why do u have to do this to Cynthia!! We couldn't see Cynthia in the previous panels as Yuma was carrying her all the while....it was Cynthia's torso with no limbs left. Cynthia's body is slowly breaking apart as she's too worn out. No doubt the extent of the damage is justified as an awakened Beth in frenzy mode, infested by The Destroyer's parasite is completely no joke. But what is rather depressing here is that Cynthia has expended most of her energy helping Yuma to regenerate her lost leg, and she has little energy to do that for herself now despite being a defensive warrior.

Beth going berserk and slicing up Cynthia like playdoh, and Yuma appears unscathed? It appears that Cynthia used herself as a meatshield to protect Yuma. When Yuma landed, Cynthia begins to ask if Yuma is fine. Yuma is totally dumbfounded, I mean you would too!!! A dying person with no limbs, is asking you if you are fine instead of caring for herself, insanity. It was after Yuma expressed her disbelief that Cynthia finally realises she lost all her limbs, in her mind she was only in a constant worry of whether Yuma was fine, oblivious to her own fatal state. How extremely typical of her character to be so selfless and to act without thinking. It is the exact reason why the Organisation wanted to send her to the North in hopes that she would die in the invasion, they don't want to keep warriors who act out of their orders and have a mind of their own. But this selfless aspect of Cynthia is indeed very admirable. If you see a blender's rotating blades flying at you please run away, this heroic act is only applicable in the manga world!!!

In her seemingly last moments, Cynthia recalls the incident 7 years ago when the Organisation sent 20 over warriors to the North to face off with Isley's army of awakened beings. Back then Miria split the warriors into various teams, and Cynthia was grouped with her friend Veronica. Cynthia was the #14 warrior, whereas Veronica was #13, hence Veronica was the team leader by default. However Cynthia recalls that their rankings were only one number apart, thus both of them acted as team leaders together.

If we remember many issues back, Veronica died in that mission along with the other team leaders. She was the first target that Rigaldo decided to rip apart, completely leaving us in utter shock at how sudden Yagi is killing people off in the story. Cynthia recalls how devastated she was that Veronica died at the hands of Rigaldo, and kept asking herself why she did not die instead since both of them were team leaders together. Cynthia felt like she didn't deserve to survive the campaign at all.

Cynthia expresses that perhaps she carried on the will of the warriors that died in the campaign and survived 7 years till this day, just to sacrifice herself for Yuma like how she should have died for Veronica back then. She begs Yuma to finish her off as she can no longer bear the intense pain she is now suffering. But of course how could Yuma do that, especially after Cynthia helped to regenerate her leg not long ago. Yuma recalled the regeneration process and tries her very best to synergise their yoki energy together for the healing process.

But regenerating a limb for an offensive warrior like Yuma that is inexperienced in that area, is rather near impossible. Even for Deneve who has hyper regeneration skills, she had to awaken for that huge boost in yoki energy to accomplish a body regeneration task. BUT I GUESS THIS JUST MEANS BOTH OF THEM WILL AWAKEN!!!!!!! Oh I would totally love for that to happen HAHA. But if Yuma and Cynthia refuses to awaken for that extra boost, their worn out bodies will never offer much to the healing process. How awesome is that if in the midst of synergising their energy together, they unexpectedly awaken and appears merged HAHA. Ok it's getting late and I'm wack.

Scene cuts to Riful's area, where Alicia is trying to recover from her struggle. Alicia is at her limits trying to keep the soul link with her twin sister Beth, so that Beth will not fully awaken with no no chance of turning back. If we recall last chapter, Beth was facing utter defeat with Priscilla. Dauf is puzzled at why Riful is staring into the space with horror splashed across her face, instead of focusing on Alicia who ripped 3 of her limbs off a moment ago. It appears that Riful is pissing her panties when she sensed that Priscilla has arrived at this part of the island.

BAM! Alicia who was struggling not long ago, has now sped off in the direction of Beth, leaving the other two in surprise. Oh my god, Riful and Dauf gets to live another day....without limbs haha. I guess if Yagi decides to let both of them survive, proves that they will be key characters in the development of the story. I believe their powers are needed in the combined effort to bring down The Destroyer.

Alicia and Beth are well known #1 and #2 twin warriors of the Organisation, raised since birth to exterminate and complete the mission like puppets with NO emotion. Since seven years ago, the Organisation had always trained Alicia and Beth to exterminate the very first female awakened being, Riful of the West. We all thought the twins had no hint of any humane emotion till now, where Alicia finally makes her own decision for the very first time, to ditch the mission and save her sister instead. This shows the twin's relationship goes beyond just a soul link to take down enemies, they do share an emotional bond as well.

Cut to Beth going on a frontal attack to chomp Priscilla apart. But as you can see her jaw is effortlessly being broken apart by the insanity that is Priscilla. OH what's new? We've actually had enough of seeing Beth in an utterly hopeless situation with Priscilla, we ALL know Beth will die because Priscilla is totally godlike and untouchable. But as sick as I am to say this, I like how Yagi creates so many interesting ways to break Beth apart in these 2 chapters LOL.

Jesus! The entire lower jaw was obliterated with just a fling of her hands! And not too many chapters ago, I was COMPLETELY sold into believing an awakened Beth infested with a parasite, would be the most powerful awakened being on the island. I'm not taking The Destroyer into account as that's totally a new species by itself haha. And all Priscilla does is talk big and plays with Beth like a toy, I think Yagi just left everyone dumbfounded at how overpowered Priscilla is shown within these two chapters.

Remember how in the last chapter, all Priscilla did was to tap her finger into Beth's torso and rip the whole chunk of human body portion out. And here she is doing what she does best, rip things apart effortlessly with that uncaring face.

AND ALICIA FLIES IN!!!!!! Yea no surprises here, we all know Alicia ditched Riful and came to her twin's aid.

I am completely in love with this expression on Alicia's face. It was not the same robotic emotionless blank stare into space that Yagi always gave her. The resilience and determination to save her twin sister shows in her piercing eyes. A few panels back we see Alicia's veins overtaking her face as a sign of struggle to keep Beth's human heart with the Soul Link, but here it seems as though she has grown more powerful and was in total control of the situation. She's telling Priscilla in her eyes, I TAKE NO SHIT FROM PEOPLE WHO MESS WITH MY TWIN. Do take note of this sudden humanity that Alicia reflects, in the next panels the twins will show more of their human emotions.

This scene makes me extremely sad. As we know, Beth is already awakened in the background and Alicia is struggling to hold on to her sister's humanity so that she has a chance to turn back. All that struggle amounted to nothing as Alicia decides to give up the situation and awaken fully on the spot. Was it a foolish decision? Both twins are now awakened and can no longer turn back to their claymore forms. But Alicia had no choice, in order for her sister and herself to survive through this ordeal, they had to awaken fully. Regardless of the outcome of this battle, the Organisation have lost their most powerful #1 and #2 warriors in that moment. But honestly although the combined awakened force of the twins are unimaginably destructive, Priscilla is unfortunately 10 times worse or more.

In that moment when Riful sensed it, she exclaims, "Idiot! That girl awakened???" Isn't it wonderful how Yagi turns the story around? Riful got 3 of her limbs torn off by Alicia such that she can't even stand up now, hates Alicia to the core so much that for the first time in 97 chapters she sheds tears, and now do we sense a hint of sympathy expressed by Riful? She was disappointed when Alicia awakened and that both twins have lost their chance to turn back. I guess even in this case, when a fight with the impossible Priscilla occurs, you have nothing but sympathy for the underdogs. Or perhaps Riful was grateful that Alicia didn't finish her off before speeding away to save her sister?

The twins then commenced their futile assault at Priscilla with much display of teamwork as twin sisters.

With their combined effort, Beth managed to chop off an arm, and Alicia slices off a leg. But results in nothing as Priscilla regenerates her limbs on the spot with lightning speed.

See that gentle finger tap on Alicia's forehead?

GONE. Her head is gone!!! ALICIA IS GONE! SNAP JUST LIKE THAT! She was building up fast to become my favourite character off the series, and now she dies in an instant!!!!! Priscilla takes things down as though everything is merely melted butter!!

Obviously we see that Beth is freakin devastated that her twin sister is decapitated so suddenly in front of her very eyes. But the main point here is that we are seeing an awakened being weeping human tears, in fact the double irony is that Beth was raised with no human emotions, just the intent to exterminate targets. Priscilla continues her verbal humiliation of the dead Alicia, which drove Beth completely nuts.

As Beth charges for a rage filled assault at Priscilla, the latter gives an uncaring speech that Beth will meet her sister very soon. I'm kinda worried that Yagi has made Priscilla way to overpowered such that nothing in the manga can take her down anymore.

The last page suddenly switches to Riful as she sensed the defeat of the twins which was of no surprise. Clare is obviously able to sense such enormous yoki energy as well, and she finds a familiar presence with Priscilla's aura. I love how the twins were portrayed to be humane deep down inside during their last moments. I have no idea how Yuma will be able to save Cynthia, perhaps Galatea will come by to assist in the yoki synergy process? Oh well exciting chapters ahead it seems, I can't wait for January!
