Long Overdue Wii-ness

Bleah I wanted to do a final post for the Wii event last week coz I might not continue with the event anymore. But it keeps dropping in my priority list of things to do until now, I finally decided to get it out of my system. Okay that was the sugar coated version, actually it was pure procrastination haha.
















OMG IT'S LING LEEEEEE. She's so pretty and sweet and nice and everything in person lah!! I think she never really act much on TV anymore, but maybe you will remember her as Vincent Ng's girlfriend lol. To me and Almeric, she was our very tanned senior Cheng Ling from volleyball team back in Fairfield Secondary. She definitely don't know me coz I never talked to her, even if I did she won't recognise me anymore coz I slimmed down lol. Almeric knew her back then coz I think they were both school counsellors, but when he asked her she had no recollection at all. *Cue heartbroken music*

Actually I wanted to snap a pic with her before she left, but had no guts to ask HAHAHAHA. Oh yah she was there to host the event, and I must say she had some unintentionally funny lines that I always notice. TEN MINUTES AGO WE SAW A DAUGHTER BEATING HER MOTHER ON STAGE, IT WAS SO EXCITING!!!!!!!! COME JOIN US HERE AT JURONG POINT TO BEAT YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS ON STAGE!!!!

"Today is a Feng He Re Li Day, Xiao Ming and Xiao Hua.....".

Yah those kind of generic answers that kids below 10 in Singapore always give, read more books to brush up your vocabulary leh!!! So in the end Jun and Almeric decided to teach some of the kids new words lol!! So cute lah when the little boys replied on stage AWESOME and OUTSIDING!!! It was meant to be Outstanding but the kid screwed up ahhaa. So we decided to teach the next kid to say BOOMZ, but din really get the chance HAHAHA. The next day I dunno if they successfully accomplished that little mission with other kids.

It's my final event with them and I don't think I am going back again, other than to visit them. They are having this event all the way till February as a publicity blitz for Wii, to introduce and familiarise Singapore with this gaming console that holds an amazing future for gaming interactivity. Firstly I already have a fulltime job so it's gonna be quite tiring to work through the weekends, but lately I really wouldn't mind coz I'd love the extra cash for the stuff I wanna buy!!!! Secondly...the event is managed by Dentsu, if I work for the event it's like indirectly betraying my own company coz we're in the same field LOL. Oh well I don't think anyone will even realise or nitpick on it lah. I really won't mind doing the events this month for more moolah!!!














But if I don't go back? It will be my final time I see them already, and this is what this entry was suppose to be about. The Wii Event was meant to support myself in the midst of my job hunt for November, but it became so much more than that and I thank everyone for that awesome experience. I definitely was able to come out of that introverted shell and talk to random strangers I see, something I would absolutely hate and avoid before the event.

I'm like a super pro in talking with kids right now, all you have to do is be as cute as them when you talk and the deal is settled HAHAHAH. I mean before this event I hated to entertain kids coz I refuse to baby talk with them!!! I must say I'm quite good with aunties as well, especially those that go on and on and on about their life story, I dunno wad they are saying but I'll still manage to bull my way through ahha! You start off wanting to attract this auntie's attention, midway through you are wondering why she's telling you about her life story, and at the end you are trying very desperately to refer her to somewhere else to get out of the situation.

Made a lot of new friends through this event, I wish them all the best in their life ahead! Thanks for the memorable experience.

Hairy Issues

You can't really see it in this picture but my friends will know I have the most white hair out of all of them. I can't help having so much wisdom on my head but it's okay I'm used to it all these years already. It was already rather obvious in the army with my short hair, can you imagine when my hair is growing out now...omg disastrous. Worse still if I style my hair, lo and behold the usually hidden white strands all pop up in full view coz I push my hair up.

So the question begs, BROWN, BLONDE, GREEN OR RAAADDD HAHAHA!!! I've been waiting so long to dye those damn strands and I can finally do so after the Wii event and some freelancing. Actually my Wii moolah has not come in yet, but when it does imma head to Taka to get those GOD DAMN FUCKTASTIC PUMA SHOES. They are so fucking grand, Xian will know which shoe I was eyeing! Yes very expensive, but I promise not to buy anymore shoes for 2 years okay??















Anyway I headed to the shop at CityVibes, they used to be a neighbourhood outlet near my house and now they upgraded to the mall!! 2 years ago I went there to dye my hair and asked for white blonde, I ended up having blue hair. I dunno why I wasn't pissed but I should have been, but I was rather surprised and happy with the wacky hair. I should have sued them and earn some cash jus so I can buy the Puma shoes 2 years later. Anyway horrible experience aside, I dunno why I still went back to the same shop LOL.














Come to think of it I really should have sue them. You know after I dyed my hair I was telling myself, wow cool now I look like Beast from X-MEN!!!!! WHICH IN THE FIRST PLACE IS NOT MUCH OF A COMPLIMENT ANYWAY. But after a few days....I realise I just look like my mother's featherduster. Luckily colouring always fades away, so slowly it became greenish, den blond which was a hell lot better. 2 months later I enlisted into the army proudly with my blond long hair hahaha! Nobody remembered who was the blondie after I shaved my hair which was a good thing.

SO SHOCKING RIGHT HAHAHA. Nah I din dye my hair black, I dyed dark brown. I didn't want a very bright colour YET coz I hate dark roots. I'm waiting for my shoulder length hair before I dye it to something more drastic, I would hate for my hair to be half black half brown 3 months later yucks!! Now all my white hair is nicely concealed and I look so much more tidy and fresh now, phew! If I got the money I would have already dyed those bloody disgusting white strands before I even went for interviews. Aiya if you've never seen me in person you won't realise how ridiculous my white hair problem is lol!

Rina's 35th Birthday

Woohoo so happy it's Friday coz I'm so lookin forward to this weekend, got lots of things I wanna do!!! But first we needa celebrate Lao Bu's 35th birthday!!! Omg she looks so young rite, I always get weird stares when I shout MUMMY in the mall, I wonder why. Anyway they are here at Sports Stadium to buy Rina's birthday present. Yes Rina got to pick the shoes herself, so old oredi no need surprises lah hahaha. Next year hitting menopause oredi still pick hot vermillion coloured trainers, buay paiseh!

















After that we went to Tonkichi? Tonkachi? Tonkubye? I dunno lah it's a Japanese restaurant at Taka. I was abit heartpain to eat at this restaurant coz I've been trying to save money, but nevermind it's Rina's 60th Da Shou, must celebrate. Omg lor the food prices around my workplace is like so jacked up, I'm seriously contemplating on making a really really nice bigass sandwich for lunch so I dun have to waste money.

Ash and his geylang chickens. You see the chicken on the extreme left? PEOPLE SHERMIN ONG OK. Now famous all over the world liao coz Xia Xue blogged about her!!! LOL. Xiaxue was having this contest to see which of her readers can photoshop her picture best, and Shermin won that contest hands down. Seriously jus now u refuse to tell me what you submitted, but I was guessing you just put a pic of Dawn Yang to show how plastic she can be just like Photoshop. But it ended up to be Cecilia Cheung which isn't far from your frequency okay!! Great minds think alike!













Wad does this tell us? The CONCEPT is always king and prevails over execution haha. In advertising there's alot of exaggeration and promise of emotional values. You wanna photoshop jus to look more beautiful in appearance, you can't really be like Cecilia Cheung but that's what you wanted anyway so why not? Haha go Shermin! She like so damn proud of it lah keep wanting me to tell the whole restaurant u noe??

Omg shiok. I've never had such a fullfilling meal in a long time! This is Oyster dunno what, but I shall jus say this is Oyster-Don because it's Japonese Foodo. Not exactly very nice but I'm so satisfied, my most expensive meal since the day I started saving money ahhaa. AND IT'S FULLY PAID BY RINA WOOHOOOO!!!! The feeling is like I got Sugar Mummy lah!!!

And today is the first time I've seen a polaroid camera in action, the pictures had a very cinematic effect to them I love it! And you always see people taking polaroid pictures and shaking it so the photo colours will appear, but Xian told me if u shake it the photo will smudge. Really? So means Outkast was lying in his "Hey Ya" song?

Gushing with Excitement

Oh look how the almighty have fallen. My dear monitor which served me for ermm 7 years or so totally dislocated itself from the stand when I was doing that freelance illustration. It was like screaming,

Fucker couldn't pick a better time to break apart, I was rushing the illustration so I can get it over and done with and concentrate on my fulltime job. So I had to lean the monitor against the wall and continue using it even till now. The company oso funny, accept me the day after interview, den start work the following day. SUPER rush! I dun even know the place well and where to have my lunch lol!!

I'm just waiting for January coz it's a very important life changing month for me HAHAHAA. Because....haha nevermind damn lame, it's not job related by the way. I'll be aiming for a change that I've been waiting for all these years, and people are bugging me as well. The only reason why I'm being so secretive is because I dowan some bloody asshole to come up with some smart alec stubborn idea just because he/she read this post.

Actually that image was for a restaurant cum bar, and now they need someone to create an environmental design for their Christmas theme in the place. It would be a totally cool experience and great portfolio addition which I would sooooo love to do it for fun!!!! But I couldn't commit cause of the job, anybody wanna take up this offer? They are lookin for people, I think it's fun!!

Claymore 97

As expected, Yagi went back to the scene between Alicia and Riful in this chapter!!!!!! And y'all thought Alicia couldn't revert back didn't you! Well she's kicking some major ass in this chapter in CLAYMORE form, and slicing up our legendary Riful like nobody's business! As you can see in the above picture, both of Riful's arms have already been smashed by our beloved Queen of Blades. The following panels in the chapter are just as sad, if not worse, for our dear Riful.




















No hands??? This is Riful we're talkin about, all she needs is her hair!! Riful executed a frontal assault to disguise her hair that's travelling under the ground to spring a surprise attack on Alicia. As expected of any above average claymore, Alicia detected the yoki underground and evaded it.




















Last chapter, everyone thought it was impossible for Alicia to revert back to her claymore form especially after her twin lost control and awakened. So it was a real surprise to see an Alicia that's very much in control of her yoki release here and putting up one of the fiercest fight sequences ever shown in Claymore history. No doubt this is the power of the organisation's #1, but I wouldn't be surprised at this outcome coz Riful's pretty beat right now. Not a fair fight at all if you ask me.

So the question begs, how on earth did Alicia revert back? Now this chapter brought forth a very cool revelation regarding the twin sisters. Apparently after 7 years of training, not only could Beth perform a soul link with Alicia and control her sister's heart whilst Alicia awakens, they could do it vice versa now!!!!!!!! HOW FREAKIN AWESOME IS THAT??? Nope I don't really think this is a baseless assumption, there is no other way to explain Alicia's current claymore form.

What probably happened was Beth used her last ounce of willpower to revert Alicia back to her claymore form, thus pushing her to the limits to awaken. But Alicia in her claymore form maintained the soul link and kept Beth's awakening in check, she probably still had the ability to revert Beth back if the parasite was removed somehow. In a way Alicia still held the key to Beth's weak humanity that's lingering somewhere. I came to this conclusion of Alicia controlling Beth as later on in the chapter Alicia was struggling badly when Beth fought Priscilla, pretty much confirming that there is still a soul link between the twins.

Yes the parasite is controlling Beth's actions, but that's for the better as Alicia won't have to focus too much on Beth's manouevres. She only has to maintain that soul link to keep her sister's human heart, and focus on fighting Riful which she's doing ridiculously well as seen. A parasite and twin sister controlling a host body, that's a new dimension to explore further in Claymore.






























This is prolly one of the tightest and most intense fight sequences that Yagi has drawn. Alicia leaps up to escape the underground strikes, and in a very quick response Riful immediately struck skywards for Alicia. And Alicia did a really amazing backhand defense there!!!!! If anything, this chapter gives Alicia credit and proves why she is no.1 in the organisation. Even without Beth, she can still give a tough fight to an Abyssal One in her claymore form.

As Alicia lands on the ground she strikes Riful on the head. But the latter duck and evaded the strike, in response striking Alicia in the head as well. Once again the latter duck and evaded as well, but this time..............




















Alicia duck and gave an upward strike, chopping off Riful's leg!!! OH MY GOD! That poor girl has only one freakin limb now!!! All I can say is, for all the evil that Riful has done, whilst forcefully trying to awaken some claymores, this is just pure payback in the face. But I still love you Riful, I hope you survive this ordeal with Alicia. Alicia gained 10 points of respect from me after chopping off that limb.




















Your opponent has only one leg left and no hands to maintain her balance, so she falls to the ground and eats dirt. Now is the best time to strike and finish her off!!! Alicia aimed for the head but Riful blocked the attack with her mutated hair. Alicia wasn't gonna let a block ruin her chance to kill an opponent that's lying hopelessly on the ground, hence she gave one more unforgiving claymore slash. But alas it hit the ground hard.






















With her remaining strength, Riful kinda did a speed burst and escaped. Now standing tall and proud with only one leg remaining, and her hair as clutches. Many fans online actually love this image of Riful, our dear lolita Abyssal never gives up in the face of death!














Omg for the first time, us fans get to see Riful weeping tears and facing an utter defeat from the claymores she always mocked. This is the Riful that we saw back in Witch's Maw chapters, where she first debut with her gigantic Abyssal form. We thought it was completely impossible for anyone to match her power, and now she is clinging on to any lingering hope of survival in this extremely chaotic state of the island. Her reign as an Abyssal One of the island is truly over, in fact the age of Abyssals is fading away as soon as Isley died. The Destroyer and Priscilla are all on a whole other level by themselves.





















Just when we thought Dauf was long gone and unconscious, he suddenly grabs Alicia's leg and warns her that nobody messes with his girl like that. He is in a really sorry state and Alicia wasnot hesitating to land a fatal blow on him.......but..





















Alicia suddenly felt a trigger of reaction from her twin sister Beth. Apparently causing her to struggle so much that she collapses on the ground, unable to finish off Riful and Dauf. Well lucky them!!! At least they get to live another chapter, I dowanna see Riful die just like that. And Dauf although irritating at times, he is one of the remaining first generation of male claymores still alive on the island. And extinction of that generation would kinda bug me a little. I think Alicia felt like she was losing her sister fast, and she was struggling to maintain the soul link.















In the next panel we see the beloved headless horseman Beth versus our surprise guest, Priscilla. Last chapter I thought it would be a perfect chance for Miria and gang to appear here and save Cynthia/Yuma. I never expected Priscilla to appear here because I thought she would head to the Destroyer to kill it off in a bid to save Raki.
















Seeing Priscilla here was kinda random and unexpected. But she probably ran away from Raki after she witnessed the parade of blood in town when the Destroyer released its parasites, she didn't wanna be tempted to consume Raki. And apparently her cold and heartless awakened personality is back.




















This chapter is a good reminder on why Priscilla is still the baddest villain in Claymore. We all thought an awakened no.2 Beth combined with the Destroyer's parasite was way too godlike for anyone to handle. But Priscilla treats Beth like a joke right here.



















She landed on the Horseman's back, rips off Beth's torso SNAP JUST LIKE THAT. Holy shit!!!!




















Then Priscilla proceeded to do the coolest thing ever to an opponent, feed on it's flesh!! How agonizing is that for Beth, I can just imagine Alicia writhing around on the ground in pain. It was the first time Priscilla has fed on anything for the past 7 years, so she went really savage here ripping out a big chunk of flesh from the back. She ain't even stopping after receiving all the bladed attacks on her back as seen above.




















I'm not really sure about this panel, but it seems like Yagi is trying to tell us that Priscilla lost her hand to Beth's attacks, but she could just regenerate instantly like that. The overpowered Priscilla is truly back.






















And the chapter ends with mockery from Priscilla, and Alicia struggling to maintain her twin's sanity as much as her own. As seen with Yagi's style of storytelling, the next chapter will probably showcase Clare's side of the island again. And this time I think we can expect to see Miria and gang come in to save the day. THEY HAVE TO, THERE IS NO WAY ELSE!!!!!!!!! I hope Yuma and Cynthia is somehow alive as well. Note that Priscilla says stupid kids in plural, could she mean the two of them that are hiding or running away nearby?

Also I pray that Yagi will reveal what happened to Renee and Dietrich. How fucking awesome it would be if the Organisation decides to send 24 warriors AGAIN to kill the Destroyer and save the day. This time we have Dietrich, Renee, Audrey, Rachel and Nina to lead the teams. We will thus have another fantastic bloodfest going on again. Okay these are extremely wild presumptions, I can't wait to see what happens next month haha!

Honestly

I have a fishy feeling about this coz things are happening so fast as though it's really not permanent. I will see how things go tomorrow, but I am very happy.

It feels like accepting the annual report offer all over again, unsure whether I could do a good job and not screw up. Nonetheless I still tried as it was a good opportunity. And like 2 years ago with this job that expects no room for mistakes, I will try my hardest to deliver.

Mixed feelings. But thankful nonetheless.

Hmm I was praying hard for next Monday because I just secured an interview with S***chi Lab. My goodness I would never ever fucking dream that the company would be interested in the portfolio I sent. That company is like my dream coz I know I wanna work long term in an advertising agency and it had so much prospects. An interview was already scheduled on Monday to meet with them, and I was freaking out in the room after the phonecall ended. I was so excited I messaged Rina on msn but she never reply me lol, so I was kinda celebrating by myself.

But on that very day I had an interview with a smaller advertising agency which was totally horrible, it only lasted 5min and I could tell I didn't stand a chance at all. My mind was still stuck on that Monday interview which I keep telling myself I MUST NOT FAIL for that dream company.

Today during lunchtime in the midst of the Wii job, I recieved a call from a previous company. I was completely dumbfounded that they accepted me, totally speechless. I had a good feeling after the interview, but I didn't think they would consider so fast!! Of course the first thing on my mind was......shit what about that dream company on Monday that I was so hoping to get into. I did ask the current company to give me time to consider, but they already have another person in view if I rejected.

So I just accepted it. Omg abit heartbreaking coz now I have to call my dream company to cancel the interview, and I'd really hate to do that. But to be honest I hardly think my portfolio would get me a job with them, I wasn't confident of it. So I didn't wanna throw the current offer away just like that. AM I VERY STUPID TO DO THAT???? Will I ever get such an opportunity to work in big companies like that again???

Haiz I'm abit confused about it as well, but I think ultimately my aim is to gain experience in the first few years for a better portfolio, and to keep the cashflow going on NOW. If S***chi doesn't accept me on Monday, I'll end up with no job again.

Argh this is kinda tearing me apart, but I am very grateful for the job offer because I totally love that company and their people as well haha!!! They handle a chain of clubs and restaurants so they told me I have to get used to their lifestyle to understand the target audience. I didn't think they were so serious about it until they told me......................the working hours is 12pm to 9pm. WTF LOL. Totally perfect to go chiong at night and wake up late the next day lah!!!!!!!! Ermmm I don't mind the lifestyle, but I would miss a lot of gatherings with friends like the Friday gang. How to meet u all? Accompany me after 9 haha?

The dream company is gone, but I MUST do my very best for this current job. I'm so very afraid I can't deliver what they want with my designs, but I don't care because in the end I still must do it until they like. FIGHT KERUBIN!

Olives Wan Sui Part 2

I had my dose of olives today again!!!! Every once in a while must indulge in olives to recharge my battery. The day would have been perfect if I went for a swim after the interview, but no it had to rain to spoil my mood. It's always so awesome to submerge yourself in the deep pool and swim beneath everyone, it's almost like escaping to another world after a tiring day.

ANYWAY! Anyone has no plans for Halloween yet? Willie was quite onz with going to an abandoned house on the night itself and honestly I'm really quite onz about it oso!!! But I don't know what time I'm working until yet or if I will be too tired to go walk. He suggested OCH, no surprises for suggesting which abandoned place I suggested haha. ANYBODY WANNA GO? ALL INVITEDDDD!!!!! We'll see how things go, I'm definitely enthusiastic about visiting some weirdass abandoned place on a Halloween.

I'm praying hard for next Monday, must not let this opportunity slip by just like that!!
